Non-Clinical Activities
Education:
We train physiatrists who always have the attitude of ‘assessing the whole body’ of the patient, who can properly diagnose the patient’s functional impairment and who can communicate well the many professions, including doctors, therapists, nurses, pharmacists, dieticians, medical social workers, and care managers, in involved in rehabilitation treatment for the patient.
You will be able to acquire fundamental clinical skills such as medical interviewing and physical examination (especially assessment of joint range of motion, manual muscle testing, and diagnosis of paralysis), as well as specialized techniques including videofluoroscopic swallowing study, musculoskeletal ultrasound, botulinum toxin therapy for spasticity, electrophysiological examinations, and medical care and management of persons with spinal cord injury.
We would like to be actively involved in the education of other healthcare professionals as well.
Social Activities:
We support the activities of para-athletes in cooperation with the Japanese Association of Rehabilitation Medicine, Medical Committee of the Japan Para Athletics, and Japan Paralympic Committee (JPC).
Scholarly Activities:
The Japanese Association of Rehabilitation Medicine
The Japanese Organization for Education and Certification of Rehabilitation Medicine
Kanto Regional Meeting of the Japanese Association of Rehabilitation Medicine
Japan Medical Society of Spinal Cord Lesion
Japanese Society of Clinical Sports Medicine
